How Posture Affects Your Overall Health

How Posture Affects Your Overall Health

As our society becomes more and more dependent upon technology, particularly as computers have become a keystone of the business world and even in our homes and daily routines, it is important to remember that a sedentary lifestyle carries long-term health risks. Our human bodies were not designed to sit and stare at screens for long periods of time. It negatively affects even our eyesight and quality of life.

Good Posture and Bad Posture

Poor daily posture will negatively impact your overall health. Great posture provides many long-term health benefits. I have been practicing, as a chiropractor in Sugar Land, for more than 14 years, and I have personally witnessed the amazing effect posture has on a person's well-being. I have provided chiropractic care, acupuncture, sports nutrition, injury recovery therapy to thousands of patients, and one of the most important keys to achieving one's health goals, living pain-free, and helping the body heal itself is proper stretching and good posture. Changing your posture does indeed change your life.

Here are some wonderful things great posture brings:

  1. Better athletic performance
  2. Optimal coordination and balance
  3. Increased breathing support
  4. Greater energy levels
  5. Living a longer active life
  6. More self-confidence
  7. Improved flexibility and pain-free movement
  8. Lower overall stress and personal anxiety

It's much more difficult to change to a more active career than it is to practice some healthy posture habits.

Here are some things that you can do that, if done consistently, will improve your health.

  1. Stand up and walk around every thirty minutes. A little exercise goes a long way to improving blood flow and muscle and joint strength.
  2. Do some light stretching once or twice an hour.
  3. Adjust and keep your screen at work and your TV at home at eye level so that your neck doesn't stay at a constant altered state.
  4. Make a regular visit to a Sugar Land chiropractor.

Finally, everyone's body goes through stress that, over time, calls for a chiropractic adjustment. This is normal and to be expected. A chiropractor can help keep your body in proper alignment and reach and maintain your optimum wellness. Schedule an appointment with your Sugar Land chiropractor and get on the road to proper posture and living life to the fullest. Furthermore, a regular chiropractic examination helps address problems that arise before they turn into big problems when your body compensates for the issue and your health and quality of life begins to deteriorate.

  • "After getting hit from behind, I went here for some body maintenance. After a month of scheduled maintenance I was 100% better, in fact I was better then I was before. I am super happy with the out come and I am even happier I did not have to pay a dime."
